Body

I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following resident committee appointments.

 

*2/3 vote required for confirmation of non-city residents.

Pursuant to Sec. 3.30(2) of the Madison General Ordinances, "...provision shall not apply to a member of or candidate for appointment to a City of Madison board, committee or commission where, in the judgement of the mayor and two-thirds (2/3) of the Common Council, the best interests of the city will be served by the appointment of a non-resident member who is particularly well qualified by reasons of education, background, and experience with Madison business concerns or other Madison-based employers and the Mayor specifies fully to the Common Council the reasons why he or she is recommending such appointment."

 

 

BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS

 

AARON J. WILLIAMS (13th A.D.) - reappoint to a two-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. First appointed 12-1-2020.

HARALD KLIEMS (5th A.D.) - reappoint to a two-year term to the position of First Alternate. First appointed 7-25-2023.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

 

*SETH W. LENTZ, Janesville - reappoint to a three-year term to the position of Resident Member.

Rationale: Seth Lentz is the Executive Director/CEO of the Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin (WDBSCW). The WDBSCW is a private, not-for profit organization charged with providing strategic & operational oversight to the workforce system in the six-county (Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Jefferson, Marquette, Sauk) south central region. 

 

KABA BAH (2nd A.D.) - reappoint to a three-year term to the position of Resident Member. First appointed 8-30-2021.

CHRISTOF SPIELER - appoint to a two-year term to the position of Metro Transit Representative succeeding Tom Lynch. Christof Spieler is the City of Madison’s new Director of Transportation.

GREGORY M. DOBY (16th A.D.) - appoint to a three-year term to the position of Member succeeding Mitchell F. Branscombe. Greg Doby is a media arts professional and A/V specialist. He is active in the Madison arts community and is the founder of Unidec Media.

STEVE DONGARRA, Monona Terrace - appoint to the position of Monona Terrace Representative succeeding Bill Zeinemann who is retiring. Steve Dongarra is Monona Terrace’s associate director of marketing and event services.

MONONA TERRACE COMMUNITY AND CONVENTION CENTER BOARD

 

ELIZABETH A. DOYLE (15th A.D.) - appoint to a three-year term to the position of City Alternate succeeding Steven Peters, who assumed a regular seat. Elizabeth Doyle is a health program manager with the Department of Health Services. She is a former Verona council person and Dane County board supervisor. She previously served on this board in her role as a county board supervisor.

HELGA P. VRANY (7th A.D.) - reappoint to a three-year term to the position of Qualified Elector. First appointed 2-7-2023.

CHRIS MCCAHILL (15th A.D.) - reappoint to a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. First appointed 6-6-2023.

ANJALI BHASIN (15th A.D.) - appoint to a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident succeeding Arnold (Gabe)  Mendez. Anjali Bhasin currently holds the First Alternate seat and has served since 5-21-2024.

TERM EXPIRES: 4-30-2028

 

DARRIN S. WASNIEWSKI (10th A.D.) - appoint to a one-year term to the position of First Alternate succeeding Anjali Bhasin, who is assuming a regular seat. Darrin Wasniewski currently holds the Second Alternate seat and has served since 10-8-2024.
