I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following citizen committee appointments. "Statement of Interests" forms are on file for those appointees required to file.
*2/3 vote required for confirmation of non-city residents.
Pursuant to Sec. 3.30(2) of the Madison General Ordinances, "
provisions of this section shall not necessarily apply with reference to membership on special study committees where in the judgment of the mayor and two-thirds (2/3) of the Common Council, the best interests of the city will be served by the appointment of certain nonresident members who are particularly well qualified by reasons of education, background, and experience
."
AFFIRMATIVE ACTION COMMISSION
JAMES J. CHIOLINO, 1525 Wayridge Dr., 53704-7809 (17th A.D.) - appoint to a two-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Mr. Chiolino is a Labor and Employment attorney with Quarles & Brady LLP and he currently serves as a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin's Diversity Outreach Committee. He succeeds Jeff Erlanger.
TERM EXPIRES: 4-19-2011.

THOMAS J. FARLEY, 2316 Eton Ridge, 53726 (10th A.D.) - appoint to a two-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Mr. Farley is a marketing consultant and non-profit executive for The Chris Farley Foundation/Farley Brand Development Group. He succeeds John McNamara who did not wish to be reappointed.

He is a communications and organizational development consultant. He is a 2008 recipient of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award. Mr. Quinlan succeeds Lauren Woods who resigned.

HO-CHUNK NATION/CITY OF MADISON JOINT PLANNING COMMITTEE
The Ho-Chunk Nation Legislature adopted Resolution 2-17-09 E which appoints the following delegates to the Joint Planning Commission.

*DANIEL M. BROWN, 5923 Exchange St., McFarland - appoint to the position of Ho-Chunk Nation Appointee. Mr. Brown is a legislator for the Ho-Chunk Nation. He has 20 years experience in community relations and economic enterprises. He succeeds George Lewis.
TERM AT DISCRETION OF APPOINTING AUTHORITY.
DAVID W. ABANGAN, 2726 Fell Rd., 53713-4776 (14th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Ho-Chunk Nation Appointee. Mr. Abangan is director of marketing for DeJope Gaming. He is a professional event and promotional planner. He succeeds Michelle Greendeer.

HOUSING DIVERSITY PLANNING AD HOC COMMITTEE
DAVID C. PORTERFIELD, 4110 1/2 Maher Ave., 53716 (15th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Housing Committee Member. Mr. Porterfield is an affordable housing developer with Wisconsin partnership for Housing Development, Inc. He has served on the Housing Committee since 11-20-2007.

LONG RANGE TRANSPORTATION PLANNING COMMISSION
Correction to term expiration date. The ordinance states that the term of service shall coincide with his/her term on the Dane County Board of Supervisors. This correction is being made in conjunction with the County Executive's Office.
MELANIE HAMPTON, 9 Lynnbrook Cir., 53719-3103 (7th A.D.) - Co. Supv. Hampton serves in the position of County Supervisor who is a City Resident. First Appointed 6-5-2008.
