I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following citizen committee appointments.  "Statement of Interests" forms are on file for those appointees required to file.
 
 
*2/3 vote required for confirmation of non-city residents.
 
Pursuant to Sec. 3.30(2) of the Madison General Ordinances, " … provisions of this section shall not necessarily apply with reference to membership on special study committees where in the judgement of the mayor and two-thirds (2/3) of the Common Council, the best interests of the city will be served by the appointment of certain nonresident members who are particularly well qualified by reasons of education, background, and experience … ."

*JOE CHASE, 300 E. Main St., Sun Prairie - Mr. Chase is the current mayor of the city of Sun Prairie.  He is chair of the Sun Prairie Plan Commission and CDA.  He is a former Code Enforcement Inspection for the City of Sun Prairie.
 
Rationale: This is a city-county initiative to develop regulations and housing strategies throughout the county; therefore, representation from both the city and county is desireable.

*PERRY L. ECTON, 2656 Targhee St., Fitchburg - Mr. Ecton is CEO for Dane County's Habitat for Humanity.  He has 30 years experience in affordable housing and 11 years experience in non-profit, public housing activities.
 
Rationale: This is a city-county initiative to develop regulations and housing strategies throughout the county; therefore, representation from both the city and county is desireable.
 
DENISE G. MATYKA, 454 Sidney St., 53703 (2nd A.D.) - Ms. Matyka is executive director of Project Home, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of affordable housing in Dane and Green Counties.
