No additional costs to the City will result from this Fleet Services Agreement. Chrysler will reimburse the City for labor and parts for certain work performed on Chrysler vehicles. No appropriation is required.

A Resolution authorizing the Fleet Services Superintendent to sign a Fleet Service Agreement with Chrysler Group, LLC allowing Fleet Services necessary access to diagnostic materials and reimbursement for repairs performed on Chrysler vehicles in the city fleet.
Body
WHEREAS, the Fleet Services Division performs repairs and warranty work on the police department's fleet of patrol units; and
WHEREAS, the police department fleet includes over 80 Chrysler patrol and parking enforcement vehicles; and
WHEREAS, Fleet Services recently installed over $6,000 in computer software used to run diagnostic tests on these vehicles and in order to have full access to the capabilities of the software and a direct link to a Chrysler website for in-depth technical assistance, and warranty and repair manuals, as well as in-person training, Chrysler Group LLC requires the City to enter into a Fleet Service Agreement to grant Fleet Services "Authorized Service Facility" status; and
WHEREAS, Fleet Services requires this status and the access that comes with it in order to properly service and repair the 80+ police vehicles; and
WHEREAS, under this Fleet Services Agreement, there is no cost to the City, rather, Chrysler will reimburse the City for labor and parts for certain service work performed on our Chrysler vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the Fleet Services Agreement is a perpetual agreement that will continue unless either party gives the other thirty (30) days written notice;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council authorizes the Fleet Services Superintendant to sign a "Fleet Service Agreement" with Chrysler Group, LLC, on behalf of the City of Madison, as described above, in a format that is approved by the City Attorney and Risk Manager.
