I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following citizen committee appointments. "Statement of Interests" forms are on file for those appointees required to file.
*2/3 vote required for confirmation of non-city residents.
Pursuant to Sec. 3.30(2) of the Madison General Ordinances, "
provisions of this section shall not necessarily apply with reference to membership on special study committees where in the judgement of the mayor and two-thirds (2/3) of the Common Council, the best interests of the city will be served by the appointment of certain nonresident members who are particularly well qualified by reasons of education, background, and experience
."
ADA TRANSIT SUBCOMMITTEE TO THE TRANSIT AND PARKING COMMISSION
JAMES COBB, 839 Williamson St. #1, 53703 (6th A.D.) - reappoint to a two-year term to the position of General Representative or Transit and Parking Commission Member. Mr. Cobb serves as a General Representative. First Appointed 4-17-2007.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT COMMISSION
CHARLES R. SANDERS, 3114 Oak Ridge Ave., 53704 (6th A.D.) - move from the position of Second Alternate and appoint to the remainder of a two-year term to the position of Low/Moderate Income Representative succeeding Kristina Dux. Mr. Sanders was first appointed 9-20-2005.

RUSS WHITESEL, 648 Crandall St., 53711 (10th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a one-year term to the position of Second Alternate Member. Mr. Whitesel is an attorney with the State of Wisconsin Legislative Council. He succeeds Charles Sanders who is being appointed to a Low/Moderate Income Rep. position.

NORMA E. SALDIVAR, 2422 E. Mifflin St., 53704 (12th A.D.) - appoint to the position of University of Wisconsin-Madison Arts Institute Representative. Professor Saldivar is the executive director of the UW-Madison Arts Institute. She succeeds Carol Gosenheimer.

ROBIN TAYLOR, 511 Clemons Ave., 53704 (6th A.D.) - reappoint to a three-year term to the position of Licensed Realtor. First Appointed 4-18-2000.

POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION
FABIOLA HAMDAN, 13 Swanton Rd., 53714 (3rd A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a five-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Ms. Hamdan is employed by the Dane County Department of Social Services as a Community Senior Social Worker. Ms. Hamdan is involved in many leadership activities and is a member of several organizations. She succeeds Shiva Bidar-Sielaff who resigned.

PUBLIC SAFETY REVIEW BOARD
BRET M.GUNDLACH, 14 Ranch House La., 53716 (16th A.D.) - move from the Alternate position and appoint to a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident succeeding Terry Moen whose term expired. Mr. Gundlach was first appointed 4-22-2008.

SISTER CITIES COLLABORATION COMMITTEE

Rationale: Mr. Villacrez has been the person leading most of the efforts of the Madison-Cusco Sister City project.

JOSEPHINE H. OYAMA-MILLER, 4903 Roigan Terr., Monona 53716 - will represent the Obihiro, Japan Sister City organization.
Rationale: Ms. Oyama-Miller is the current president of the Madison-Obihiro Sister Cities, Inc.
