Title
Amending the 2017 Capital Budget of Stormwater Utility and Authorizing the City of Madison, through the City Engineer, to accept Dane County Urban Water Quality grant awards in the amounts of $475,000 for the Starkweather Creek Stormwater Treatment Project.
Body
WHEREAS, The Stormwater Utility Capital Budget includes $300,000 for design of a Coagulant Stormwater Treatment System in 2017 and $5,000,000 for construction of that system in 2019; and
WHEREAS, The 2017 budget needs to be amended to include $475,000 in grant funding for Starkweather Creek Stormwater Treatment Project; and
WHEREAS, City Engineering has applied for a fifty percent matching Urban Nonpoint Source and Storm Water Management Program Construction grant, not to exceed $475,000, and
WHEREAS, A resolution guaranteeing acceptance of the funds, should they be awarded to the City is necessary to apply for this grant,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1) That the City of Madison, through the Mayor and the City Clerk, is authorized to apply for and accept this grant from Dane County,
2) Be it further resolved that the City of Madison, through the Mayor and the City Clerk, is authorized to sign and submit the following: grant agreement, reimbursement claims, interim and final reports, and additional forms as required,
2) Be it further resolved that the Mayor and Common Council authorize the expenditure of grant funds in accordance with the grant application.
3) Be it further resolved that the City of Madison shall comply with all state and federal laws, regulations and permit requirements pertaining the implementation of this project and to fulfillment of the grant document provisions.
4) The 2017 Capital Budget of Stormwater Utility is hereby amended to increase expenditure authority by $475,000 funded by a Dane County Grant.
