Fiscal Note
The City has committed $600,000 thus far for the design and fabrication of the fountains and planters (as approved in previous budgets).  The 2005 State Street-Capitol Square Adopted Capital Budget (project #2) authorizes an additional $1,065,000 in anticipation of additional funds of up to $210,275 required to complete the fabrication and the funding required for infrastructure work for the installation.

WHEREAS the Madison Common Council approved Resolution Number 60925, I.D. Number 34805, authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an agreement for design, fabrication and inspection of installation between the City of Madison and Flow Forms America, Inc., for creating site specific public art features that replace the four round brick fountains on the Capitol Square Wisconsin Avenue; and
 
WHEREAS the bid set documentation for the construction became more detailed, it became necessary for the Consultant to prepare the bid documentation drawings and produce the bid set documents adding additional costs; and
 
WHEREAS Due to the receipt of higher than expected construction bids for the installation of the public art features, Consultant's delivery and assemblage of the public art features was delayed to allow the City to rebid the installation work, with the delay resulting in increased costs to the consultants.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Madison Common Council approves authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute an amended agreement for an additional $210,275 for design, fabrication, and inspection of installation between the City of Madison and Flow Forms America, Inc for creating site specific public art features that replace the four round brick fountains on the Capitol Square and the round brick planters at Wisconsin Avenue and Mifflin Street.
