I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following resident committee appointments.

 

 

ALCOHOL LICENSE REVIEW COMMITTEE

 

SHERI CARTER (10th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident succeeding Stefan J. Fletcher. Sheri Carter is a former alder - having served on the City’s Common Council for eight years. During her tenure, she served on numerous city committees and held the positions of common council vice president and president. She is a public servant working for the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services and has been involved with numerous community organizations over the years.

TERM EXPIRES: 4/15/2025

 

 

DISABILITY RIGHTS COMMISSION

 

PARIS ECHOLES (20th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident succeeding Katie B. Sullivan. Paris Echoles is an educator and the founder of Born Gift3d consulting firm. He holds two Masters degrees in Educational Leadership. Prior to starting Born Gift3d, he served as the building principal of Savanna Oaks Middle School in Verona. He also previously served as the director of youth re-engagement for the Madison Metropolitan School District.

HOUSING STRATEGY COMMITTEE

 

WILLIAM R. OCHOWICZ (6th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Resident Member succeeding Tracey Caradine. William Ochowicz is the founder/lead of Madison is for People - a group that advocates for more affordable and sustainable housing. He works as a software developer for Genus PLC.

MADISON PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD

 

Madison Metropolitan School District  Recommendation:

LISA C. HEMPSTEAD (5th A.D.) - reappoint to a three-year term to the position of School Superintendent or Representative. First appointed 9-5-2017.

TERM EXPIRES: 6-30-2026

 

SALUD GARCIA (18th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident succeeding Eve Galanter. Salud Garcia is an administrative operations assistant with UW Health. Prior to that, her career has been working with non-profits, including supporting numerous boards. She is a long-time patron of the Lakeview Library branch.

TERM EXPIRES: 6-30-2026

 

GENEVIEVE CARTER (3rd A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident succeeding Yeonhee Cheong. Genevieve Carter is a state and local government policy consultant with Crowe LLP. She is an active community member, volunteering at voter registrations/GOTV events and serving as a Madison elections official. She also serves as a youth coach and mentor for the Madison-area Girls on the Run. She is passionate about ensuring residents have access to city services - including access to Madison public libraries.
