I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following citizen committee appointments.  "Statement of Interests" forms are on file for those appointees required to file.
 
*2/3 vote required for confirmation of non-city residents.
 
Pursuant to Sec. 3.30(2) of the Madison General Ordinances, " … provisions of this section shall not necessarily apply with reference to membership on special study committees where in the judgement of the mayor and two-thirds (2/3) of the Common Council, the best interests of the city will be served by the appointment of certain nonresident members who are particularly well qualified by reasons of education, background, and experience … ."
 
AFFIRMATIVE ACTION COMMISSION
 
CHRISTIAN L. ODOM, 2410 Old Camden Square, 53718 (17th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a two-year term to the position of Adult City Resident.  Mr. Odom is a supervisor at Great Lakes Higher Education. He assists with counseling and guiding at-risk youth and teens and has founded an African American Congress to address the pressing issues within the communities of color.  He succeeds Heidi Pasqual.
TERM EXPIRES: 4-20-2010.

CENTRAL PARK DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION TASK FORCE
 
TRULY REMARKABLE LOON, 1134 Spaight St., 53703-3701 (6th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Citizen Member.  Mr. Loon is a juggler.  He is a lifelong Madison resident and park user; he has lived near Central Park for 14 years.  He is a member of the Marquette Neighborhood Association and volunteers for several events in his neighborhood.  He succeeds Henry Cuthbert.
