Sponsors: Steve King, Paul E. Skidmore
Fiscal Note
Funds for the program are currently raised by a ten dollar fee charged for each mattress and box spring collected.  Residents pay the fee by purchasing a fee sticker, similar to other stickers for large items and electronics.  Stickers may be purchased at Public Libraries, on line, or at Streets Division offices.  The Streets Division will pay nine dollars to the contractor for each unit to be recycled.  The remaining revenue will be used to offset the cost of administration, and for the  purchase of small equipment used to handle the units to be recycled.  The Libraries keep one dollar for each sticker sold to offset administrative costs.
