Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes a first amendment to the existing architectural design services contract (#9548) with Sketchworks Architecture, LLC, for the South Point Public Works Facility (formerly known as the Far West Public Works Operations Building). The original contract was approved via RES-25-00341 on June 03,2025 (Legistar #87864), in the amount of $1,590,783. This amendment adds $56,361 to the contract for additional services required during the construction drawing, and construction administration phases of the contract. The revised contract amount, as amended, would be $1,647,144. Funding for the amendment is available in the 2026 Adopted Streets Division Capital Budget in the South Point Public Works Facility project (Munis #13016). No additional appropriation is required.

Preamble
The parties, the City of Madison ("City") and Sketchworks Architecture, LLC ("Architect" or "Contractor") entered into a contract for the purchase of professional architectural design and construction administration services for the South Point Public Works Facility on July 29, 2025 (RES-25-00341, FILE ID 87864). The contract amendment for this resolution is to address extra services required during the construction drawing, and construction administration phases of the contract. Additional scope includes added design due to unanticipated scope during the RFP phase, unanticipated soil conditions, and significant changes to adopted building codes.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute Amendment #1 to the Contract (#9548) between the City of Madison and Sketchworks Architecture, LLC, in the amount of $56,361 in a form to be approved by the City Attorney, to provide professional architectural and engineering design services for the extra work as described above. The new total contract amount will be $1,647,144.
