Body
PREAMBLE

Metro Transit is at a critical phase in its transition to a more cohesive scheduling, payroll and runcutting system supported by automation technology.  Blockbuster is a runcutting software product made and maintained by Trapeze that will seamlessly interface with scheduling, payroll and other Trapeze products that Metro has implemented/is currently implementing.  In addition to allowing more automation in the runcuttnig process, Blockbuster will allow the scheduling and payroll modules (FX and OPS) to function more efficiently.

WHEREAS, Metro's current runcutting technology is out dated and is rapidly becoming more and more difficult to support and integrate with new technology; and

WHEREAS, Metro Transit currently uses several other Trapeze products that share the same proprietary database and data structure with Blockbuster; and

WHEREAS Blockbuster can be implemented to utilize the existing server infrastructure which will minimize the cost of deployment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter into a sole source agreement with Trapeze
Software Group, Inc. to purchase the Blockbuster module of Trapeze Software at a cost not to exceed $175,000.  This software is available only from Trapeze and is necessary to interface with and enhance Metro Transit's runcutting work as well as other operations functions.
