I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following citizen committee appointments.  Committee applications for mayoral appointments are attached.  Statement of Interest forms are on file for these appointees.
*2/3 vote required for confirmation of non-city residents.
Pursuant to Sec. 3.30(2) of the Madison General Ordinances, "...provision shall not apply to a member of or candidate for appointment to a City of Madison board, committee or commission where, in the judgement of the mayor and two-thirds (2/3) of the Common Council, the best interests of the city will be served by the appointment of a non-resident member who is particularly well qualified by reasons of education, background, and experience with Madison business concerns or other Madison-based employers and the Mayor specifies fully to the Common Council the reasons why he or she is recommending such appointment."
 
 
AD HOC COMMITTEE ON MOPED PARKING
 
DANIEL L. FAHEY, 535 W. Johnson St. #504, 53703 (4th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Member.  Mr. Fahey is a University of Wisconsin-Madison student and a member of the  men's basketball team.
 
JULIANNA K. JEROSCH, 1402 Regent St. #409, 53711 (5th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Member.  Ms. Jerosch is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a swim instructor with the University's Division of Recreational Sports.
 
PAMELA S. MCCORD, 7626 Mid Town Rd. #108, 53719 (1st A.D.) - appoint to the position of Member.  Ms. McCord is the owner and general manager of Tutto Pasta on State Street.
 
MICHAEL REWEY, 5522 Comanche Way, 53704 (18th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Member. Mr. Rewey is a retired Transportation Planning Chief with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

*TROY A. RULAND, 110 Anne St., Mazomanie, 53560 - appoint to the position of Member. Mr. Rualnd is the Field Service Manager at Transportation Services at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
 
Rationale: Mr. Ruland works at the University of Wisconsin overseeing parking on campus, specifically enforcing moped parking.  Since students comprise a large portion of moped users, and since the way the University and the city regulate moped parking is intertwined, it is important to have the University's expert on the committee.
 
JACLYN SKJERVEM, 1613 Prairie Rd., 53711 (20th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Member.  Ms. Skjervem is a property manager with Steve Brown Apartments.
 
AMANDA F. WHITE,       2321 Oakridge Ave., 53704 (6th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Member.  Ms. White is the Associate Director of the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin.

Commission on People with Disabilities recommendation:
WILLIAM J. TANGNEY, 1954 E. Washington Ave. #10, 53704 (12th A.D) - appoint to the position of Member of the Commission on People with Disabilities or Senior Citizens Advisory Committee Representative or General Representative.  Mr. Tangney serves as representative of the CPD.  He succeeds Lorry B. Bond.
