The proposed resolution reclassifies eight positions within the Streets Division’s operating budget.
Positions #1613, #1644, #1675, and #1720 will be reclassified from Public Works General Forepersons at CG18-RG07 to Streets General Supervisors at CG18-RG08. The annualized incremental increased cost per position, inclusive of both salary and benefits, is $3,000; this is an annualized increase in cost of $12,000 in total for all four position reclassifications.
Positions #1664, #1665, #1725, and #1765 will be reclassified from Public Works General Foreperson at CG18-RG07 to Public Works Forepersons at CG18-RG05. The annualized incremental cost savings per position, inclusive of both salary and benefits, is $4,270; this is an annualized cost savings of $8,540 in total for the two position reclassifications.
The net annualized incremental increased cost of the eight position reclassications proposed in this resolution is $3,460, which will be absorbed within the Streets Division’s operating budget from salary savings resulting in staff retirements in 2018.

Recreate 4 Public Works General Foreperson (CG18, R07) positions in the Streets Division budget as Streets General Supervisors (CG18, R08). Recreate 2 Public Works General Foreperson positions as Public Works Forepersons (CG18, R05), with the understanding that when the remaining 2 Public Works General Foreperson positions become vacant in the future, they will also be recreated as Public Works Forepersons in CG18, R05.

Resolution that positions #1613, 1644, #1675, and #1720 of Public Works General Foreperson are recreated as Streets General Supervisors in CG18, R08, to be filled through an internal job posting to Streets Division employees in CG18 only, and the incumbents will continue to underfill the positions as Public Works General Forepersons until the posting is complete. Be it further resolved that vacant positions #1664 and 1665 of Public Works General Foreperson are recreated as Public Works Forepersons in CG18, R05. An additional Public Works General Foreperson will become vacant by August following the promotion to replace the Process Plant Supervisor (CG18, R08), who is retiring in July. Upon filling, the vacant position will also be recreated as a Public Works Foreperson in CG18, R05. The remaining position will remain a Public Works General Foreperson in CG18, R07 until the incumbent leaves, at which time it will be recreated as a Public Works Foreperson in CG18, R05, all in the Streets Division operating budget, thereof.
