I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following citizen appointments.  "Statement of Interests" forms are on file in the City Clerk's Office for those citizens required to file.

 

COMMUNITY ACTION COALITION FOR SOUTH CENTRAL WISCONSIN

 

ANDREW T. RUSSELL, 3523 Gregory St., 53711(10th A.D.) - appointed to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Mayor or Designee.  Mr. Russell is the administrator of the Catholic Multicultural Center for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Madison.  He succeeds Steve Holtzman.

TERM EXPIRES: 4-15-2008.

 

GARDENS, COMMITTEE ON COMMUNITY

 

SOPHIA A. ESTANTE, 414 Chamberlain Ave., 53705 (5th A.D.) appointed to the position of CDBG Commission Representative.  Ms. Estante has served on the CDBG Commission since 9-2-2003.  She succeeds Carl Silverman who formerly served as the representative.

TERM EXPIRES: 10-1-2006.

AUSTIN E. MCCLENDON, 5450 Lake Mendota Dr., 53705-1200 (19th A.D.) - appointed to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Citizen.  Mr. McClendon owns Hawk's Restaurant and is the current operator of Silky's Brats and Dogs. He is a late-night food vendor as well as a Camp Randall High Density food vendor.   He succeeds Toriana Pettaway.

TERM EXPIRES: 6-1-2007.

 

VIET Q. HOANG, 2117 Commonwealth Ave., 53716-3955 (10th A.D.) - appointed to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Alternate.  Mr. Hoang is a UW-Madison student and is a Mall/Concourse food vendor.  He succeeds Vu Le who resigned.

TERM EXPIRES: 6-1-2006.

 

WATER COMMISSIONERS, BOARD OF

 

*2/3 vote required for confirmation of non-city residents.

 

Pursuant to Sec. 3.27(2) of the Madison General Ordinances, " … provisions of this section shall not necessarily apply with reference to membership on special study committees where in the judgement of the mayor and two-thirds (2/3) of the Common Council, the best interests of the city will be served by the appointment of certain nonresident members who are particularly well qualified by reasons of education, background, and experience … ."

 

*GREGORY W. HARRINGTON, 7579 Lokken La., Verona 53593 - reappointed to a five-year term to the position of Adult City Resident.  First Appointed 9-19-2000.

TERM EXPIRES: 9-30-2010.
