Whereas, the parties, the City of Madison ("City") and Potter Lawson, Inc. ("Architect" or "Contractor") entered into a contract  for purchase of architectural and engineering design services for the City-County Building Tenant Improvement Remodels on August 17, 2006, and
 
Whereas, the amendment is the continuation of development and preparation of architectural and engineering design, space planning, plans, space planning, and specifications, preparation of bid documents, assistance in the bid process and construction administration for the design and construction of tenant improvement remodels in the City-County Building (CCB) and the Madison Municipal Building (MMB), and
 
Whereas, provide additional architectural and engineering design services for changes in the original scope of work for CCB 4th Floor Comptroller's Office, which includes additional office space remodeling and additional ceiling replacement, for the additional fee of $3,200, and,
 
Whereas, provide additional architectural and engineering design services for changes in the original scope of work for MMB 1st Floor Housing Operations , which includes design revisions for an Admissions Office space for the additional fee of $405, and,
 
Whereas, provide additional architectural and engineering design services for changes in the original scope of work for MMB 2nd Floor DPCED Breakroom, which includes design revisions for a staff break room for the additional fee of $600, and,
 
Whereas, provide additional architectural and engineering design services for changes in the original scope of work for MMB 3rd Floor DPCED Real Estate Group, which includes design revisions to add new walls for director office space, create space for new reception counter, remove and replace all lighting with new fixtures, remove and replace all window air-conditioning units, add electrical power and data, and add new fire alarm devices for the additional fee of $5,578, and,
 
Whereas, provide reduced architectural and engineering design services for changes in the original scope of work for CCB Police Storage on Garage Level which is now removed from Phase 2 construction documents and has been deleted from the project for the reduced fee of ($225), and,
 
Whereas, provide additional architectural and engineering design services for changes in the original scope of work for CCB 4th Floor Mayor's Office, which includes additional ceiling replacement within existing offices, for the additional fee of $1,900, and,
 
Whereas, professional design services shall include architectural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical engineering, fire protection, and other disciplines as required, and
 
Whereas, the 2007 Capital Budget includes funding for architectural and engineering consultant design services, an Architect consultant must be hired to design this additional project, and
 
Whereas, the additional services exceed the expenditure authorized in Resolution #RES-06-00639, and exceed the predicted quantity of work described in the existing contract, such that they are "Extra Services" under Sections 10 and 24 and not "Additional Services" under Section VII. of Attachment 1, and
 
Now, Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute an Amendment No. 4 to Contract # 5971 between the City and Potter Lawson, Inc. to authorize the additional work as described above and payment in the amount not to exceed $11,458.00.
