WHEREAS, the Common Council, by Resolution No. 12,459, adopted March 9, 1967, has approved a master list of existing street names and designations for all purposes; and
WHEREAS, Secs. 10.34(1) and 10.35, Madison General Ordinances, require the City Engineer to maintain certain street numbering maps; and
WHEREAS, the subdivision plat of Madison Commerce Park was recorded August 29, 2001 in Volume 57-183B on Pages 765 and 766 as Document No. 3367639; and
WHEREAS, the subdivision plat of Madison Commerce Park platted and named Yesterday Drive East of Owl Creek Drive across delineated wetlands connecting to proposed Yesterday Drive as proposed on the subdivision plat of Lost Creek; and
WHEREAS, the subdivision plat of Lost Creek was recorded September 21, 2001 in Volume 57-185B on Pages 772 and 773 as Document No. 3376330; and
WHEREAS, the State of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has denied a permit request made by the City of Madison to construct Yesterday Drive across these delineated wetlands; and
WHEREAS, without the completed construction of Yesterday Drive across these delineated wetlands, physically connecting the Madison Commerce Park and Lost Creek subdivisions, there exists a public safety concern about the confusion of two non-contiguous vehicular use street segments of Yesterday Drive and potential increased emergency response times due to that confusion and the inability to travel within this platted right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, the Yesterday Drive Condominium Association, LTD. has requested the City of Madison change the name of Yesterday Drive to Eagle Summit Court; and
WHEREAS, the City of Madison Engineering Division supports the request of changing the name of Yesterday Drive and has reviewed and approved the proposed new name of Eagle Summit Court;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by approving this resolution, the City of Madison Common Council hereby approves the street name change from the existing name of Yesterday Drive to Eagle Summit Court from Owl Creek Drive to the point of intersection with a line between the Northeast corner of Lot 22 and the Southeast corner of Lot 31, Madison Commerce Park.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public street signage change is required as a result of approval of this resolution and the City of Madison Traffic Engineering Division shall change the existing Yesterday Drive street name sign at the intersection with Owl Creek Drive to read Eagle Summit Court; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, as a result of this street name change, the Yesterday Drive Condominium Association, LTD. property which lists various city department addresses of 5301, 5303, 5305 and 5307 Yesterday Drive to this segment are hereby changed to 1, 3, 5 and 7 Eagle Summit Court effective upon adoption of this resolution; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, upon adoption of this street name change resolution, the City of Madison Engineering Division will mail an address change notification letter to the Yesterday Drive Condominium Association, LTD., appropriate U.S. Postal Office, Dane County 911 Office, various affected City of Madison Department Managers, as well as public and private utility companies which provide services to this property. All City of Madison records will be updated to reflect the new street name and revised address numbers.
