I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following citizen committee appointments. "Statement of Interest" forms are on file for those appointees required to file.
ADA TRANSIT SUBCOMMITTEE TO THE TRANSIT AND PARKING COMMISSION
JEANNE B. TREGONING, 3122 Grandview Blvd., 53713 (14th A.D.) - reappoint to a two-year term to the position of Wheelchair Use of Metro Plus. First Appointed 8-19-1997.
TERM EXPIRES: 8-19-2009.
ALLIED AREA TASK FORCE
DENISE G. MATYKA, 454 Sidney St., 53703 (2nd A.D.) - appoint to the position of Allied Area Property Owner. Ms. Matyka is executive director for Project Home. She has been involved in the Allied Drive community as a property owner for seven years. She succeeds Henry Stanley.
BROADBAND TELECOMMUNICATIONS REGULATORY BOARD
ERIK S. PAULSON, 222 N. Hamilton St. #8, 53703 (2nd A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Mr. Paulson is a research assistant for the University of Wisconsin system. He feels he understands the technical aspects of the broadband infrastructure. Mr. Paulson succeeds Milton Kirpatrick who resigned.

BUILDING CODE, FIRE CODE AND LICENSING APPEALS BOARD
RICHARD J. LINK, 6 Classic Cir., 53719 (1st A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Real Estate Broker. Mr. Link is a realtor with Start Company Realtors. He succeeds Robert Szumski who resigned.

RUSSELL G. STERN, 7914 W. Oakbrook Cir., 53717 (9th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Member with Fire Prevention Experience. Mr. Stern is in sales and project management with Ahern Fire Protection. He has 15 years experience in the fire protection industry. He succeeds Paul Lippitt who resigned.

Pursuant to Sec. 3.27(2) of the Madison General Ordinances, " … provisions of this section shall not necessarily apply with reference to membership on special study committees where in the judgement of the mayor and two-thirds (2/3) of the Common Council, the best interests of the city will be served by the appointment of certain nonresident members who are particularly well qualified by reasons of education, background, and experience … ."
*JEFFREY B. BARTELL, 3442 John Muir Dr., Middleton 53562-1183 - reappoint to the position of City Appointee. Mr. Bartell was first appointed 1-20-2004.
TERM EXPIRES: 5-1-2009.
RATIONALE: Attorney Jeff Bartell has served the MT Board with great ability and dedication since January 20, 2004. His significant civil involvement and investment of personal time to Madison's cultural and business life is second to none. Attorney Bartell has developed close working relationships with civic and business leaders in our community which has proven very helpful to Monona Terrace's activities. He chaired the board's 10-year anniversary celebration and he is heading up a review of the board's bylaws.

JUDY K. OLSON, 518 Clemons Ave., 53704 (6th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Ms. Olson is the previous 6th district alder. She succeeds Sarah Davis who resigned.
