I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following citizen committee appointments. "Statement of Interests" forms are on file in the City Clerk's Office for those appointees required to file.
*2/3 vote required for confirmation of non-city residents.
Pursuant to Sec. 3.30(2) of the Madison General Ordinances, "
provisions of this section shall not necessarily apply with reference to membership on special study committees where in the judgement of the mayor and two-thirds (2/3) of the Common Council, the best interests of the city will be served by the appointment of certain nonresident members who are particularly well qualified by reasons of education, background, and experience
."
AFFIRMATIVE ACTION COMMISSION
DONNA V. HURD, 7482 East Pass, 53719 (7th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a two-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Ms. Hurd is executive director for Boardman Law Firm LLP. She succeeds Judith Siers-Poisson who resigned.

ANDREA R. KAMINSKI, 842 Woodrow St., 53711-1959 (10th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a two-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Ms. Kaminski is executive director of the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin Education Fund. She succeeds Anne Habel whose term expired.

GORDON GRAHAM, 610 Walnut St., 53726 (business address) - reinstate to the position of UW-Madison Appointee. Mr. Graham is the transportation administrator for the UW-Madison Transportation Services Department.
SUSTAINABLE DESIGN AND ENERGY COMMITTEE
PETER J. TAGLIA, 718 W. Brittingham Pl., 53715-1420 (13th A.D.) - move from the position of First Alternate Member and appoint to the remainder of the term to the position of At-large Member. Mr. Taglia succeeds James Armstrong who resigned. First Appointed 6-17-2008.
TERM EXPIRES: 6-30-2011.
MARC B. KORNBLATT, 1108 Garfield St., 53711-2214 (13th A.D.) - move from the Second Alternate position and appoint to the remainder of a one-year term to the position of First Alternate Member succeeding Peter Taglia who is being moved/appointed to an At-large Member. First Appointed 1-20-2009.

ERIC T. TRUELOVE, 7402 Whitacre Rd., 53717-1330 (9th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a one-year term to the position of Second Alternate Member. Mr. Truelove is director of The Renschler Company. He has over 28 years of full-time engineering experience which includes work on 30 LEED projects and 10 Green Globe projects. He succeeds Marc Kornblatt who is being moved/appointed to First Alternate Member.

RICHARD A. HEINEMANN, 1722 Chadbourne Ave., 53726 (5th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a one-year term to the position of Third Alternate Member. Mr. Heinemann is an energy and municipal attorney with Boardman Law Firm. He has interests in renewable energy and sustainability issues. He is chairperson of the sustainability committee with the law firm.

SWEATFREE PURCHASES, COMMITTEE ON
ERIC S. HOYT, 543 W. Mifflin St. #2, 53703 (4th A.D.) - appoint to a three-year term to the position of Student Representative on the UW-Madison Labor Licensing Committee. Mr. Hoyt is an undergraduate at UW-Madison and a librarian at UW-Madison Memorial Library. He is a member of several campus committees in addition to the Labor Licensing Policy Committee.

JONATHAN D. ROSENBLUM, 507 N. Franklin Ave. #15, 53705 (5th A.D.) - appoint to a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Mr. Rosenblum is an attorney for the WEA Trust. He served on the board of directors for the Interfaith Coalition for Worker Justice of South Central Wisconsin for several years. He is an expert on Codes of Conduct.

MARY E. BOTTARI, 1035 Sherman Ave., 53703 (2nd A.D.) - appoint to a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Ms. Bottari is a consumer advocate. She is a senior analyst in Public Citizen's Global Trade Watch Division based in Washington, DC. She has been instrumental in bringing trade and regulatory conflicts in the areas of public health, food safety and the environment to the attention of the public and the media and encouraging citizen involvement in the process. She is an expert on government procurement.

DEBORAH W. SPROULE, 1617 Tarragon Dr., 53716-1858 (16th A.D.) - appoint to a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Ms. Sproule is a crossing guard for the City of Madison. She is a community volunteer, active in several civic organizations and is a representative of AFSCME Local 60.
TERM EXPIRES: 3-31-2012.

*JOSEPH CONWAY, 2810 Quebec La., Janesville, WI 53545 - appoint to a three-year term to the position of Alternate Member. Mr. Conway is a fire lieutenant with the Madison Fire Department. He is president of IAFF Local 311.
