Fiscal Note
The adopted 2012 Operating Budget includes $50,000 in Miscellaneous Appropriations for the Emerging Neighborhoods Fund. This resolution allocates the entire balance of the Fund.
Title
Approving the provision of 2012 Emerging Neighborhood funds to several agencies and authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to enter into agreements with those agencies to implement the project.
Body
WHEREAS, the 2012 City of Madison Operating Budget provides $50,000 in Miscellaneous Appropriations for the Emerging Neighborhoods Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Emerging Neighborhoods Fund Workgroup issued applications with a due date of May 25th, 2012, reviewed the submissions (which included $93,890 in total funding requests) and now makes the following funding recommendations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council approves the following recommended allocations:
Allied Dunn's Marsh Neighborhood Association - for up to $5,000 for the Allied Girls Empowered by Motivated Sisters (GEMS) program serving the Allied Dunn's Marsh neighborhood.
Boys & Girls Club of Dane County - for up to $2,500 for the Garden Club program serving the Bram's Addition neighborhood.
Boys & Girls Club of Dane County - for up to $2,500 for the Family Chef's program serving the Bram's Addition neighborhood.
Brentwood Community Coalition/Brentwood Village Association - for up to $5,200 for the Brentwood Village Summer/Fall Family Program serving the Brentwood neighborhood.
Goodman Community Center - for up to $5,016 for the Peace Project serving the Darbo-Worthington Neighborhood.
Leopold Neighborhood Association - for up to $7,000 for the Summer in the Park program serving the Leopold and Arbor Hills neighborhoods.
Leopold School & Community Garden - for up to $2,700 for the Youth Garden and Nutrition Summer program serving the Leopold and Arbor Hills neighborhoods.
MSCR - Meadowood Neighborhood Center - for up to $4,700 for the Meadowood Park Program serving the Meadowood neighborhood
Mentoring Positives - for up to $9,964 for the Worthington Park Summer Family Time Program serving the Darbo-Worthington neighborhood.
Youth Services of Southern Wisconsin - for up to $5,420 for the Southwest Madison Youth Work Crew/Clean & Freshies program serving the Southwest Madison neighborhoods.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Community Development Division, Office of Community Services will serve as the lead contract agency for all funded projects; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to sign agreements with the above listed agencies or their fiscal agents for the described activities.
