Adding Resident Member to Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee

WHEREAS, the Madison Common Council established the Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee (LORC) on April 30, 2014 (Legistar File 33846); and,
WHEREAS, membership of LORC is made up of 5 Alders; and,
WHEREAS, LORC is currently finishing up on the Phase 2 work, which is to consider amendments clarifying the substantive standards for the various historic districts; and,
WHEREAS, Former Alder Marsha Rummel, District 6, served as a member of LORC Phase 1 and Phase 2 until her term ended on April 19, 2021; and,
WHEREAS, Former Alder Marsha Rummel has significant historical knowledge of the City’s Landmark Ordinances;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council modifies the membership of Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee to include a resident member whose term would last for one year.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Marsha Rummel be appointed to this new position with a term expiring on April 19, 2022.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that future vacancies in the position be filled by a recommendation by Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee and approval by the Common Council.
