Body
WHEREAS, on February 26, 2013 the Common Council approved resolution number 28837 which authorized the purchase of a duplex located at 1409 - 1411 Theresa Terrace for the potential use as a neighborhood center; and

WHEREAS, the City of Madison, working with neighborhood residents, is in the midst of planning for the future use of this facility and determining the extent of needed renovations of the duplex that will be needed to accommodate those uses, a process that will not be completed before the end of the summer; and

WHEREAS, the City of Madison has not yet selected a vendor to operate the future neighborhood center on Theresa Terrace; and

WHEREAS, despite the lack of an operating neighborhood center this summer, there is strong interest in the neighborhood and by the City to operate a summer elementary program in the Theresa Terrace neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, the City applied to the Evjue Foundation for funds to operate a summer elementary program for residents in the Theresa Terrace neighborhood and has been awarded a $20,000 grant for that purpose; and

WHEREAS, the City, through its Community Development Division and in consultation with the District Alderman and residents in the Theresa Terrace neighborhood, has accepted an offer from the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County to operate the summ...
