is my pleasure to write to you on behalf of the application by Jack Sosnowski
for a liquor license for a new German-themed restaurant on the west end of
Monroe Street. I am familiar with two of his other restaurants in the downtown
area of Madison, and can speak to the fact that they are professionally run and
provide an excellent customer experience. This is the type of business that we
like to have on Monroe Street.
The
neighbors in the area around the proposed new restaurant have legitimate
concerns about parking and noise, however I feel that those involved in this
new project have earnestly addressed these issues. Happily our
neighborhood has a history of being supportive of Monroe Street businesses, and
I hope that the concessions and compromises being proposed are found
satisfactory by both parties.
