I write regarding the proposal to locate a liquor store at 1935 Monroe St. 
Given that Trader Joes sells alcohol, that Barriques sells alcohol, and that 
there is yet another vendor of liquor nearby on Regent Street, I am wondering 
why on earth we would need another liquor store in our neighborhood. Given the 
existing liquor shops nearby and the persistent public problems of alcohol 
abuse by students from nearby Edgewood, I strongly oppose the issuance of a 
license.
