Title
Approval of Memo Regarding Dog Status Change
Body
The LRP met in January of 2023 to discuss the issue of “dog-free parks”, should we have them, and if so, how to determine which parks are dog free and when should the BPC consider changes in status? The subcommittee feels that the need for the dog free parks is not sufficient to continue with the effort involved in selecting the parks, and then enforcing this status. Rangers have also provided input and feedback on this proposal and are in favor of removing the status. Therefore, the LRP recommends that Parks removes this status from all dog free parks. Note that this does not require a change to the policy or the city ordinance.
The LRP will discuss and edit the attached memo, and if in agreement, refer the memo to the BPC for adoption.
