The proposed resolution authorizes awarding a one-year contract to Capital Newspapers for publication services. The rate of payment is based on rates set in Wisconsin State Statute Chapter 985. The 2023 Adopted Operating Budget includes $45,000 in funding to support this contract. No additional appropriation is required.

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City, a one-year contract with Capital Newspapers beginning June 1, 2023 and ending June 1, 2024. Under this contract, the Wisconsin State Journal will publish the proceedings of the Common Council, Ordinances, Orders, and other official notices. The rate of payment is based on the legal rate as provided in Wisconsin Statutes.
