Title

Approving plans and specifications and authorizing the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for 2022 Mineral Point Landfill Gas Construction. (19th AD)

Body

This Engineering Division is requesting bids for the installation of approximately 570 linear feet of landfill gas piping at Mineral Point Landfill. These improvements will restore vacuum service to 6 landfill gas extraction wells that are currently connected to watered-out header lines. It is not feasible to pursue a direct replacement of the watered out header line along the southern edge of the landfill as the piping is 10-15’ deep and within 5’ of occupied condominium units. Instead, this design brings vacuum from the northern side of the landfill to service landfill gas wells along the southeastern edge of the landfill. For the past couple years, City Vactor trucks have been used to remove water from the southeast header on a monthly basis.  These improvements will restore continuous vacuum service to these 6 gas wells without the need for regular Vactor assistance.

BE IT RESOLVED,

1)  That the plans and specifications for the 2022 Mineral Point Landfill Gas Construction be and are hereby approved.

 2) That the Board of Public Works be and is hereby authorized to advertise and receive bids for said project.
