In Honor, Recognition, and Appreciation of Kelli Lamberty’s 25 years of Dedicated Service as Community Event Coordinator of the City of Madison.
Body
WHEREAS, Kelli Lamberty is retiring from her position as the Community Event Coordinator in the Parks Division;

WHERAS, Kelli has worked on the development, facilitation, coordination and implementation of integrated city-wide policies regarding community events on public property in the City of Madison; including those within the purview of the Street Use Staff Commission, Board of Park Commissioners, as well as in other venues, while staying true to the City of Madison’s and Madison Park’s visions;

WHEREAS, Kelli has facilitated the permits for many types of unique Madison events such as festivals, parades, runs/walks, triathlons, farmers markets, and sports tournaments;

WHEREAS, Kelli has built relationships between the City and Community organizations that put on Community festivals that add to the spirit of our neighborhoods and provide an opportunity for residents, local artisans, performers, merchants and city employees to interact with one another;

WHEREAS, Kelli eagerly took on the task of planning the first Ride the Drive;

WHEREAS, Kelli never lost her cool, even on the rare occasions when a Street Use Permit had to be denied or event organizers had to be told they could not hold their event in exactly the way they would like to;

WHEREAS, Kelli presided over some memorable applications for events such as protests for the U.S. Conference of Mayors, Act 10, Occupy Madison tent cities, fall harvest-themed events, FREAKFEST, and some interesting ideas involving snow, ice, waterslides, giant inflatable objects, coffee machine giveaways, unattended pianos, among other things;

WHEREAS, Kelli always met these challenges with professionalism and kindness, even when such challenges arose at the “last minute” on a Friday afternoon; and
