Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution approves plans and specifications and authorizes the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for the Olin Park Facility Improvement Project. The total estimated cost of the project is $3,600,000. Funding is available in Munis 12856. MMSD will provide a $400,000 contribution as defined in the lease agreement. The current construction market is exhibiting significant variability in material costs due to supply disruptions and consumer demand. City staff continue to closely monitor bid results for potential adjustments to the Olin Park Facility estimate. A budget amendment may be needed to award the construction contract.

Funding breakdown is part City GO and part Parks Impact Fees contribution.

Body

The Capital Budget includes funding for the Olin Park Facility Improvement Project. The Project funds the replacement of MEP systems, installation of fire suppression, and compliance with ADA requirements in the East Wing of the existing building located at 330 E Lakeside Street, with the goal of providing an improved environment for staff and the public.

 

This resolution approves the plans and specifications for the project, authorizes the Board of Public Works to advertise for and receive bids for the project, and authorizes the acquisition of materials and services required to successfully complete the project. The current construction market is exhibiting significant variability in material costs due to supply disruptions and consumer demand. City staff continue to closely monitor bid results for potential adjustments to the Olin Park Facility estimate. A budget amendment may be needed to award the construction contract.

BE IT RESOLVED:

1. That the plans and specifications for the Olin Park Facility Improvement (Project) are hereby approved.

 

2. That the Board of Public Works is hereby authorized to advertise for and receive bids for the Project.

 

3. That the City Engineer and Finance Director are hereby authorized to obtain all Furnishings, Fixtures, Equipment and Materials necessary for the Project in accordance with City Purchasing Policy.

 

4. That the City Engineer and Finance Director are hereby authorized to obtain and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute any documents required for moving, remediation, testing, inspection and consulting services as necessary for the Project in accordance with MGO Ordinances and City Policy, on a form and in a manner that has been approved by the City Attorney and Risk Manager.
