Title

Board of Health-Madison & Dane County Resolution #2020-26 Authorization to Accept Funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to Support the Overdose Fatality Review Team

Body

Public Health Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes the acceptance of funding from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to support efforts to reduce the rate of drug overdose death in Dane County. Previously, these grant funds were approved for receipt from the Wisconsin Department of Justice. These funds, totaling $35,000, allow PHMDC to continue to facilitate a multidisciplinary Overdose Fatality Review Team, which examines individual drug-involved overdose death cases in order to develop systems-level recommendations for preventing drug overdose deaths. Under the terms of the merger agreement, the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County may accept grants with the approval of the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County (IGA, VII, F, 1-3).

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to accept the amended consolidated contract funding in the amount of $35,000 in the 2020 budget.
