Commending, honoring, and expressing appreciation to Natalie Erdman, for her six months of exemplary service to the City of Madison as Interim General Manager for Metro Transit.

Body

WHEREAS, Natalie Erdman has tirelessly served the City of Madison for many years, most recently as Director of Planning, Community and Economic Development; and,

 

WHEREAS, Natalie graciously agreed to serve as interim Metro Transit General Manager in November of 2019; and,

 

WHEREAS, Natalie had no idea of the unprecedented changes Metro Transit was about to experience, including reduced routing, suspension of fare collection, significant budget challenges, and ensuring employee safety; and,

 

WHEREAS, Natalie’s professionalism and experience as a public manager instilled confidence in Metro Transit’s staff, guiding the agency through unsettling times; and,

 

WHEREAS, Metro Transit remains critical service for many Madison residents, getting essential workers to jobs and residents to services and groceries, and Natalie’s leadership has helped maintain this service; and,

 

WHEREAS, Natalie fully deserves a second retirement, having accumulated 10 years of transit experience in a mere six months; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City of Madison continues its indebtedness to Natalie for her service over the decades,

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Madison express their sincere appreciation to Natalie Erdman for her additional contribution as Interim General Manager for Metro Transit, providing an essential service to many during extremely challenging times.
