Board of Health Resolution #2019-20 Authorization to Accept Funds from the Rotary Club of Madison to Support Immunization Education Efforts

Public Health-Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes accepting a donation from the Rotary Club of Madison to support immunization education efforts. The Rotary Club of Madison is a local service and civic leadership organization located in Madison, WI whose mission is to promote shared responsibility to take action on the world’s most persistent issues including disease prevention, education, and growing the local economy.
Specifically, PHMDC proposes accepting $700 to provide education and outreach materials to be used by the Immunization Program. With the recent threat of a measles outbreak and the upcoming flu season, increasing immunization rates in Dane County is crucial to protect the health of the community. The Rotary Club of Madison donation will help the Immunization Team conduct outreach and provide immunization education throughout Dane County, with the goal of increasing immunization rates. Under the terms of the merger agreement, the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County may authorize PHMDC to accept and spend grant funds (IGA, VII, F, 1-3).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County, on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health to accept $700 from the Rotary Club of Madison to support the Immunization Program.
