Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes amending a contract between the City of Madison and RDG Dahlquist Art Studio to have a new completion date of March, 2019 and appropriate an additional $60,000 for design, fabrication, and installation of a site-specific public art. The 2017 adopted Capital Budget reauthorized TIF proceeds from TID 32 to fund the project, estimated to cost $160,000. Funding for the additional $60,000 proposed by this resolution will be covered by the $378,000 of available funding in The Municipal Art Fund capital program. No additional City appropriation is required.

Body
Whereas, the 2016 Adopted Capital Budget reauthorized $500,000 for the installation of a public art piece on the 700/800 blocks of State Street funded from TIF proceeds from TIF District 32; and
Whereas, the first proposed art project did not come to fruition; and
Whereas, a subsequent request for qualifications and selection process resulted in commissioning of a less expensive public art project for that location; and
WHEREAS the Madison Common Council approved Resolution File Number 44833, Enactment Number RES-17-00091, authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an agreement for design, fabrication and inspection of installation between the City of Madison and RDG Dahlquist Art Studio for creating a site specific public art feature for the intersection of State Street, the Library Mall, and East Campus Mall; and
WHEREAS during design development and engineering, the project has evolved and additional time has elapsed; and
