Commending and thanking Alderperson Sara Eskrich for her dedicated service to her constituents in District 13 and the City of Madison.
Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Sara Eskrich was first elected on April 7, 2015 to represent the 13th District; and,

WHEREAS, during her tenure Alderperson Sara Eskrich served on the Affirmative Action Commission, Bayview Foundation Board, Board of Estimates, Capitol East District Committee, Community Development Authority, Community Services Committee, Finance Committee, Joint Campus Area Committee, Joint Southeast Campus Area Committee, Joint Wet Campus Area Committee, Public Safety Review Committee, Truman Olson Selection Committee and the Henry Vilas Zoo Commission; and,

WHEREAS, during Alderperson Eskrich’s tenure she championed the budget for Monroe Street reconstruction and led a comprehensive public input design process and project execution, including stormwater management, increased pedestrian safety facilities, and placemaking; and,

WHEREAS, she facilitated over 15 planning and development projects through city approvals, increasing the housing (both market rate and affordable housing) and commercial opportunities in District 13; and,

WHEREAS, she was instrumental in getting city officials and other stakeholders to recognize the need for a public health approach to violence prevention; and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Eskrich initiated an RFP to spur redevelopment along South Park Street and kicked-off a neighborhood planning process at the Triangle to support redevelopment of affordable housing and the community center at Bayview and the CDA; and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Eskrich through her tireless dedication to her aldermanic duties has faithfully and with honor served her constituents and the City of Madison,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Sara Eskrich for her dedicated service to her constituents in District...
