Funds for the salary of the Alderperson for District 13 are available in the Common Council 2018 Operating Budget.
Title
Appointing Allen A. Arntsen as Alderperson for District 13 to serve until the Spring 2019 election.
Body
WHEREAS, the Common Council Executive Committee met on August 6, 2018 to make a recommendation on the appointment of an Alderperson for District 13 according to the procedures outlined in Madison General Ordinances 2.03; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council Executive Committee reviewed the resumes submitted and interviewed the applicants; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council Executive Committee recommends that Allen Arntsen be appointed to fill the vacated District 13 aldermanic seat; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council shall appoint and confirm the recommended candidate, or appoint and confirm another candidate among the applicants, per MGO 2.03(4),
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allen A. Arntsen is hereby appointed to the position of Alderperson for District 13 effective August 7, 2018 to serve until an election is held in the spring of 2019 and a qualified District 13 Alderperson is elected and sworn-in on April 16, 2019.
