This resolution authorizes the Engineering Division to issue a request for design proposals of the Old Middleton Road Underpass; the project is included in the Engineering Division's 2019 capital improvement plan request and future funding will be subject to future budget approval.

WHEREAS the City of Madison Engineering Division in the proposed Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is proposing a new pedestrian & bicycle underpass along the north side of Old Middleton Road under the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad crossing.
WHEREAS the Old Middleton Rd Underpass can serve as an important pedestrian & bicycle link for Spring Harbor Neighborhood and Glen Oak Hills Neighborhood as well as the University Row development.
WHEREAS the City of Madison Engineering Division plans to apply for Federal Funds from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) to assist with construction funding for the project.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Engineering Division is hereby authorized to advertise a request for proposals for the design engineering services for the project.
