No Appropriation Required. This resolution authorizes the Engineering Division to issue a request for design proposals of the Autumn Ridge Path; the project is included in the Engineering Division's 2019 capital improvement plan request.and future funding will be subject to future budget approval.

Authorizing City Engineering to issue a request for proposals for design engineering services for Autumn Ridge Path.  (15th AD)

Body

WHEREAS the City of Madison Engineering Division in the proposed Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is proposing a new pedestrian & bicycle path, called the Autumn Ridge Path along the north east side of the City, generally located in the area bound by Highway 30, Highway 51, Thompson Dr and Milwaukee St.

 

WHEREAS the Autumn Ridge Path includes a new path from the intersection of Portland Parkway and Milwaukee Street through Heistand Park, Swanton Acres Plat and across Hwy 30 on a new pedestrian/bicycle bridge.   

 

WHEREAS the Autumn Ridge Path can serve as a link for northeastern neighborhoods such as the Swanton Acres Plat, Burke Heights Neighborhood and Ridgewood Neighborhood to connect to the Capital City Trail and Downtown and further points beyond.

 

WHEREAS the City of Madison Engineering Division plans to apply for Federal Funds from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) to assist with construction funding for the project.

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Engineering Division is hereby authorized to advertise a request for proposals for the project.
