Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison Common Council on September 5, 2017 by File #47510, Enactment No. RES-17-00739 (the “Resolution”) authorized the development of a neighborhood plan for the Triangle and Monona Bay neighborhoods; and

WHEREAS, the Resolution directed the Mayor to appoint an 11-member ad-hoc steering committee (the “Committee”) representing the demographics of the planning area and variety of business types to help oversee the development of the neighborhood plan; and

WHEREAS, the role of the Committee is to advise staff in developing this plan and that the draft of the plan will be presented to the Committee before it is forwarded to the Plan Commission and Common Council for adoption; and

WHEREAS, since the Committee does not make recommendations to the Common Council, and includes stakeholders in order to gather important community input, the members of the steering committee are not subject to sec. 3.35(5)(a)1. and 3., MGO, in carrying out their duties on the steering committee; and

WHEREAS, since the enactment of the Resolution, further discussions among staff indicate that December 2018 is a more realistic date for introduction of the Triangle and Monona Bay neighborhood plan than September 2018, which is the date specified in the Resolution.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the role of the Committee is to advise staff in developing this plan and that the draft of the plan will be presented to the Committee before it is forwarded to the Plan Commission and Common Council for adoption.
