PREAMBLE

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation plans reconstruct the roadway to an urban roadway with four (4) to six (6) vehicular travel lanes, two (2) on-road bike lanes, curb and gutter, sidewalk, multi-use path, street lighting, and a curbed, grassed median. The Project is planned for construction in the year 2017-19.

The work of this project cannot be constructed between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM because:

1. Intersection work and utility installation across the roadway must be completed at night to minimize the amount of disruption to normal daily traffic and increases the likelihood of completing the project within the expedited schedule allowed.

The proposed activities beyond the hours of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM are as follows:

1. Intersection work and public utility (sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer) installation across the roadway.

2. Private utility installation across the roadway by MG&E.

The estimated Dates are as follows:

1. Intersection work and public utility (sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer) installation - 10 nights throughout construction.

2. Private utility installation - 9 nights throughout construction, July 1, 2017 - October 31, 2017.
These date ranges are approximate, and will be more clearly defined as the work areas are identified or as weather and unforeseen circumstances dictate.

Construction activities generally exceed the noise limits imposed by the Madison General Ordinances and temporary construction activity between the hours of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM is allowed to exceed the noise limits imposed by the Madison General Ordinances section 24.08 (3) provided the Common Council adopts a resolution allowing the construction.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that construction work, with assoc...
