Title

Commending and thanking Alderperson Tim Gruber for his dedicated service to the constituents in District 11 and to the City of Madison.

Body

WHEREAS, Alderperson Tim Gruber was appointed by the Madison Common Council on March 1, 2016 to serve as District 11 representative; and,

 

WHEREAS, Alderperson Tim Gruber served on the Joint West Campus Area Committee, Long Range Transportation Planning Committee, Madison Area Transportation Planning Board (MPO) and the Metro Paratransit Medicaid Waiver Funding & Policy Review Ad Hoc Committee; and,

 

WHEREAS, during his tenure he supported the construction of the Midtown District Police Station in District 11, including facilitating two neighborhood meetings, provided comments, scheduled neighborhood meetings and  facilitated neighborhood input regarding two development projects in District 11;  a redevelopment of the Hilldale Shopping Center between Macy's and Sundance Theater (that is currently under construction), and a proposal for a hotel on Frey Street (that is scheduled to be voted on by the Common Council on April 18), supported transportation planning through his service on the Madison Area Transportation Planning Board (MPO), Long Range Transportation Planning Committee, and Madison in Motion Committee,  authored a resolution stating the City's preference for converting Stoughton Road into an urban boulevard and prepared a informative presentation on, "What the City Does," for his daughter's third grade class at Lincoln School,

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Tim Gruber for his dedicated service to the constituents in District 11 and to the City of Madison and wish him well in all his future endeavors.
