Fiscal Note

This agreement grants the "First Tee Program" access to the City's golf courses.  Green fees and range range ball fees will be paid by program participants before play, or subsidized by the Chapter.  The City will agree to set a rate for green fees that will not exceed the rate in effect for high school golf programs.  The Chapter will also pay a usage fee to the City of $1.00 per year.  The City will pay all utility, maintenance, and management costs associated with operating the Golf facility.  No appropriation from the General Fund is required.

Authorizing the City to Execute an Amendment to the Use Agreement for the Golf Facility During the 2011-2019 Golf Seasons Between the City and Madison Metro Youth Golf Initiative, Inc.

 

Body

WHEREAS, on January 12, 2011, pursuant to the authorization granted by RES-11-00009, Legistar File ID #20672, the City and the Chapter entered into a 25-year Golf Facility Use Agreement (the “Agreement”) which Agreement set forth the terms and conditions for the Chapter’s use of the City’s Monona Golf Course to establish and operate its First Tee Program; and,

 

WHEREAS, Chapter wishes to expand its First Tee Program to the City’s three other golf courses (Glenway, Yahara Hills and Odana Hills), which expansion is supported by the City; and,

 

WHEREAS, as part of this First Tee Program expansion, both Parties wish to amend the term of the Agreement as well as terms relating to the payment of Program Participant’s subsidized greens fees;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter into a First Amendment To The Use Agreement For Golf Facility Use Agreement for the 2011-2019 Golf Seasons (“First Amendment”) with Madison Metro Youth Golf Initiative, Inc., in a format that is approved by the City Attorney and the Parks Superintendent, and that is consistent with the First Amendment attached hereto.
