Fiscal Note
In the adopted 2017 Capital Budget the Parks Division has budgeted $5,000,000 for improvements at Olbrich Botanical Complex under the Parks Olbrich Botanical Complex project (MUNIS 17193). This program has sufficient funding for the proposed work in this resolution. Funding is provided by GO borrowing and Private Contributions.

The proposed resolution approves a purchase of services contract for architectural/engineering design services and construction administration services for the design and construction of the Olbrich Botanical Gardens Expansion project at an estimated cost of $1,000,000.

Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. to provide professional architectural/engineering design services and construction administration services for the design and construction of the Olbrich Botanical Gardens Expansion - Project 1.
Body
WHEREAS the 2017 Capital Budget includes funding for architectural and engineering consultant design services; and,

WHEREAS the Olbrich Botanical Society has exceeded its January 17, 2017 fundraising goal of $2.9 million, with $3,068,914 in cash and pledges towards its total commitment of $5 million: and,

WHEREAS the contract compensation for complete architectural/engineering design services and construction administration services shall not exceed $935,000; and

WHEREAS the scope of this project shall include architectural/engineering services for the Olbrich Botanical Gardens Expansion - Project 1 that will achieve at a minimum LEED Certification-Silver per Madison Legislative File #07453 following the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for New Construction and Major Renovations (LEED-NC v. 3) Rating System; and,

WHEREAS Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. of Minneapolis, MN has been selected through the “Request for Qualifications” process and Final Interview” process, and is the final selected candidate in accordance with MGO...
