Fiscal Note
In the adopted 2017 capital budget Engineering-Bicycle & Pedestrian has budgeted for the construction of the Capital City Trail Path Segment 1 on the City's east side from Buckeye Road to Dondee Road (MUNIS 10154). The total estimated project cost of Segment 1 is $330,000 of which $197,000 of GO Borrowing funding is established in the adopted 2017 capital budget. The proposed resolution amends the adopted 2017 capital budget and awards the grant of $133,000 from the County to fully fund the cost of the project.

Title
Amending the Adopted 2017 Capital Budget and Authorizing the City of Madison, through the City Engineer, to accept a grant award from the Dane County PARC & Ride Bike Trail Grant Program in the amount of $133,000.00 for the construction of Capital City Path Segment 1; and approving plans and specification and authorizing the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for Capital City Path Segment 1.

WHEREAS, City Engineering has applied for and received a Dane County PARC & Ride Bike Trail grant for up to $133,000 through a fifty percent match; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Clerk have executed a County / Municipal Agreement for Local Let PARC & Ride Bike Trail Grant Program for Capital City Path Segment 1 under RES-16-00208
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the plans and specifications for Capital City Path Segment 1, be and are hereby approved;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Public Works be and is hereby authorized to advertise and receive bids for said project;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to sign and grant easements or right-of-way release or procurement documents, maintenance agreements or encroachment agreements, as necessary and grant or accept dedication of lands and/or easements from/to the Developer/Owner for public improvements located outside of existing public fee title or easement right-of-ways.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the 2017 Capital Budget is hereby amended to accept a grant award from Dane County in the amount of $133,000.
