The annual cost of the proposed contract is $28,950; funds for the contract are available within the Parking Utility 2016 operating budget in account 82140-54645. It is anticipated that the new system will come online during 2017, at which time this contract will no longer be needed.

Body
The City of Madison is under an existing monthly maintenance agreement with HUB Parking Technology USA Inc., previously known as Zeag USA Inc. and Zeag America Inc., as authorized by RES-09-00200. The Parking Utility would like to renew the contract through such time as the selection and implementation process of a new PARC system is complete. This would authorize a sole source purchase from HUB to maintain the proprietary equipment and software installed in City Parking Utility garages and lots and serves to extend the current contract through June 30, 2017 with the option by the City to terminate with 30 days notice.

WHEREAS, the Parking Utility's revenue equipment in its garages and Brayton Lot is manufactured and maintained by HUB Parking Technology USA Inc.;

WHEREAS, the Parking Utility is currently seeking proposals for a new Parking Access Revenue Control System (PARCS), and the Parking Utility anticipates that any hardware and software conversion to be performed by the awarded vendor will not be completed prior to the expiration of the maintenance agreement with HUB Parking Technology USA Inc.;

WHEREAS, the existing PARCS equipment and software will need to be maintained until conversion to a new PARCS is complete;
