Funding for this program is avialable in the 2016 Adopted Capital Budget. The 2016 Capital Improvement Plan includes $600,000 for the program annually through 2020.

Approving the Worker Cooperative Fund program guidelines and request for proposal release.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison is committed to supporting projects that economically empower workers and help address community needs; and,
WHEREAS, the city of Madison continues to look for ways to address issues of equity and fair labor practices recognizing that empowering communities, business owners and workers to organize projects and businesses in a cooperative model will have a long lasting economic benefit to the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Office of Business Resources will coordinate this 5 year project including releasing this request for 2016/2017 funding.
WHEREAS, there will be annual reviews of the program and if program goals are being met funding will continue to be provided to the grantee in years 2018/2019/2020.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Worker Cooperative Fund and request for proposals are approved for release; and,
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the each contract shall be approved by the Common Council at a later date.
