Fiscal Note

This two-year agreement (with options for summer service) provides for the reimbursement by Edgewood College, Inc. for access by Edgewood students and employees to Metro Transit fixed route and ADA paratransit services pursuant to the Transit and Parking Commission-approved unlimited ride pass fare tariff.  Metro Transit will bill Edgewood $1.15 per fixed route ride for the 2015-2016 academic year and the applicable per ride rate in the then current Metro Transit Fare Tariff during academic year 2016-2017.  Paratransit rides will be billed at the rate of the applicable paratransit fare in the TPC-approved fare tariff at the time the ride is taken.  Metro Transit included an estimate of $95,800 in fare revenues in the 2016 Metro Transit Operating Budget and will include revenue estimates in subsequent budgets for each year of the agreement.

Body

WHEREAS, Edgewood College, Inc. and Metro Transit have had a successful and productive contracting arrangement for an unlimited ride pass program for Edgewood College students and employees in the past, and both parties wish to extend their agreement for a two-year period; and

 

WHEREAS, the parties have negotiated specifications which meet all Transit and Parking Commission criteria set in advance for unlimited ride pass agreements;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to enter into an agreement with Edgewood College, Inc. for the purpose of providing an unlimited ride pass program for the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 academic years (with options for summer service) with reimbursement by Edgewood to the Transit Utility for student and employee trips at a per ride rate of $1.15 for fixed route trips for the 2015-2016 academic year and the applicable per ride rate in the then current Metro Transit Fare Tariff during academic year 2016-2017.  Paratransit rides will be billed at the rate of the applicable paratransit fare in the TPC-approved fare tariff at the time the ride is taken.
