Title
Authorizing the execution of an Underground Electric Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of a City-owned property, located at 1234 East Washington Avenue.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison is the owner of a property located at 1234 East Washington Avenue (the “Property”); and
WHEREAS, the Property is occupied by the City of Madison Fire Department and used for a fire maintenance facility; and
WHEREAS, Madison Gas and Electric Company (“MG&E”) has an existing 10-foot-wide overhead electric line easement located along the rear lot line of the Property; and
WHEREAS, MG&E will be installing new underground electric service and removing some overhead electric lines that are located along the rear lot line of the Property, in order to serve the adjacent redevelopment project on East Mifflin Street; and
WHEREAS, MG&E has requested an new 10-foot-wide underground electric easement, along the rear lot line of the Property, in the same location as the aforementioned overhead electric line easement; and
WHEREAS, City of Madison Fire Department and Office of Real Estate Services staff have reviewed and approve of the granting of said easement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Underground Electric Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of the City-owned property located at 1234 East Washington Avenue; legally described as follows:
A strip of land, ten (10) feet in width, located in Lots 11 and 12, Schulkamp’s Subdivision of a Part of Block 196, Original Plat, City of Madison, lying in part of the Northeast ¼ of Section of Section 13, Town 7 North, Range 9 East, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, said strip being more particularly described as follows:
