Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an amended purchase of service (Architect) agreement with Meyer Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. for $45,000 to provide professional architectural and engineering design services for expedited demolition of the Madison Municipal Building (MMB) loading dock annex in preparation for the Judge Doyle Square parking structure excavation.

Preamble
The parties, the City of Madison ("City") and Meyer Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. ("Architect" or "Contractor") entered into a contract for the purchase of professional architectural pre-design (programming and preliminary concept) services for the MMB and City-County Building (CCB) on July 15, 2014 (RES-14-00545); a contract amendment to study three design and cost scenarios at MMB on January 6, 2015 (RES-15-00027); and a currently routing proposed contract amendment to proceed with - and complete - the schematic design process to pursue a full rehabilitation of the MMB (File #38442).
The intended outcome of this resolution and contract amendment is construction bidding documents for complete demolition of the loading dock annex at the Madison Municipal Building (MMB) in preparation for the Judge Doyle Square parking structure excavation.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are herby authorized to execute an amendment to the current contract between the City of Madison and Meyer Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd., in a form to be approved by the City Attorney, to provide professional architectural and engineering design services for the construction documents for the complete demolition of the loading dock annex at the Madison Municipal Building.
