Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Anita Weier was first elected to the Madison Common Council on April 5, 2011; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Weier served on the Administrative Review Board, Board of Public Works, Brentwood/Northport Corridor Neighborhood Resource Team, Committee on the Environment, Council Legislative Agenda Work Group on Demographic Change, Common Council Organizational Committee, Community Action Coalition for South Central Wisconsin, Inc., Early Childhood Care and Education Committee, Equal Opportunities Commission, Housing Strategy Committee, Madison Local Food Committee, Subcommittee of the Transit and Parking Commission to Review Taxi Regulations and Shared-Ride Services, Transit and Parking Commission, Warner Park Community Recreation Center Advisory Subcommittee, Water Utility Board and the Yahara Lakes Advisory Group; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Anita Weier successfully led a drive to prevent construction of a 96,000-square- foot warehouse next to Troy Gardens, assisted in gaining approvals for a UW Credit Union Branch on Northport Drive and the acquisition and rehabilitation of The Woodlands apartment complex by Mirus Partners Inc., and sponsored the ordinance to amend the Equal Opportunities Commission ordinance to protect the nonreligious; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Anita Weier through her hard work and dedication to her aldermanic duties has faithfully and with honor served her constituents and the City of Madison,
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Anita Weier for her dedicated service to her constituents in District 18 and the City of Madison.
