Commending and thanking Alderperson Scott Resnick for his dedicated service to the constituents in District 8 and to the City of Madison.
 
Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Scott Resnick was first elected to the Madison Common Council on April 5, 2011; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Resnick served as Common Council President Pro Tem during the 2013-2014 term and Acting Mayor of Madison on several occasions including  the 2013 Halloween celebration; and,
 
WHEREAS, during his tenure Alderperson Resnick served on the Ad Hoc Committee on Moped Parking, Administrative Review Board, City-County Liaison Committee, Digital Technology Committee, Downtown Coordinating Committee, Economic Development Committee, Housing Committee, Joint Southeast Campus Area Committee, Landlord and Tenant Issues Committee, Madison Cultural Arts District Board, Plan Commission, State Street Design Project Oversight Committee and the Vending Oversight Committee; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Scott Resnick served as a strong voice and advocate for entrepreneurs in city hall, encouraged new forms of civic engagement through blogging and crowdsourcing ideas, fought for student rights on housing, campus safety, redistricting, and land use decisions, sponsored the state's first open data ordinance and spearheaded the city's innovative efforts to close the digital divide in Madison; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Scott Resnick through his hard work and dedication to his aldermanic duties has faithfully and with honor served his constituents and the City of Madison,
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Scott Resnick for his dedicated service to his constituents in District 8 and the City of Madison.
